Legislative Town Hall—“Lay Your Cards on the Table!”
Carson City, NV—Assemblyman Pat Hickey, (R, Reno) will be moderating a town-hall style legislative meeting on this Monday, April 18th between 3:00—5:00 pm in Senate Room 1214 of the Legislative Building in Carson City. Lawmakers, business leaders, academics and lobbyists will be part of a panel discussion on the topic:
“The Recession, Revenues and Nevada’s Recovery—and this Legislative Session.”
“So far, this Legislative Session all we have heard is attacks against the Governor’s budget,” said Pat Hickey. “I am hoping this public-scrutinized dialogue will cause lawmakers, lobbyists, job-creators and union leaders to lay their legislative cards on the table,” said Hickey. “With Committee of the Whole hearings to begin on Tuesday, this forum will help to get out into the open things that have only been talked about behind closed doors,” said Hickey. “As moderator, I plan to press participants to speak openly about the ‘end game’ here this session. Nevadans deserve for their lawmakers and the lobbyists who influence them, to be honest about their agenda. I believe this forum will prod lawmakers to begin doing just that,” commented Hickey.
